Who We Are

Elizabeth and Rachel met 20 years ago at Share Our Strength—recruiting, training and managing volunteer committees to produce large-scale events that raised more than $5M annually. During that time, they also produced the organization’s annual service project and saw the potential of service as a unique and powerful team-building tool.

Since then they’ve continued their work in the non-profit, higher education, and association worlds and gained Masters degrees in organizational development and adult learning respectively. They’ve spent their careers seeing how much people care—and how often workplace culture holds them back. They started MuBu Consulting to help teams work smarter, connect deeper, and make work meaningful again—for the people doing it and the communities they serve.

As an organizational psychologist, Elizabeth helps leaders and teams turn burnout into opportunity, uncover what’s holding them back, and build solutions that actually stick. As an adult learning specialist, Rachel empowers organizations through learning, capacity-building, and equity-focused programs, helping teams grow stronger while creating real-world impact.

Together, they lead with one mission: to protect people from burnout, strengthen teams, and transform workplaces into spaces where connection, purpose, and impact thrive.

Elizabeth helps leaders navigate change, build trust, and create lasting impact. With over two decades in leadership development and organizational growth, she partners with clients to uncover what’s blocking progress—and create solutions and systems that actually stick. Elizabeth’s natural curiosity makes her uniquely effective in organizational diagnosis—revealing internal strengths while naming the systemic and human barriers teams face.

Known for her thoughtful, collaborative style, Elizabeth helps people, teams, and organizations turn change into opportunity. She believes the best ideas come from within teams themselves, and she’s there to help bring them to life for meaningful results. She holds a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University, and an M.S. in Organizational Development from American University and The NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science. Elizabeth is a yoga practitioner with over 500 hours of teacher training.

Rachel is passionate about lifelong learning as a tool for equity, inclusion, and empowerment. With 20+ years of experience in program development, adult education, and learning events, she has helped organizations of all sizes—from local nonprofits to international associations—streamline systems, build capacity, and launch programs that create real impact.

A Certified Association Executive (CAE), Rachel has written articles and presented workshops for national conferences and trade publications. She also teaches adult English as a Second Language, staying grounded in the real-world impact of education and learning. Rachel holds a B.A. from Texas A&M University and an M.S.Ed. in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from James Madison University.
